Central Asia Drug Action Programme (CADAP 3)

The overall objective of CADAP 3 is to foster a development oriented drug control strategy in Central Asia that ensures a sustained reduction of drug consumption and trafficking in line with the European Commission drug strategies.

 

The specific goals of the Programme are:

 

·         to reinforce drug control capacities at the border;

·         to strengthen regional forensic capacities;

·         to raise public awareness on the danger of drug consumption

·         to strengthen regional cooperation and donor coordination.

 

Planned outputs:

 

∙  facilities at selected Border Posts rehabilitated/refurbished;

∙ frontline staff at the border trained;

∙ dog capacities strengthened in the pilot regions;

∙ local communities informed of danger of drug abuse and drug trafficking;

∙ forensic capacities of laboratories and border crossing points are strengthened at regional level;

∙ enhanced coordination with other donors’ programmes and strengthened cooperation at regional level
