Central Asia Drug Action Programme (CADAP 4)

The overall objective of CADAP 4 is the gradual adoption by beneficiary authorities of EU good practices in the field of drug policies. CADAP covers both supply and demand reduction aspects in line with the recommendations of the Central Asia Indicative programmå 2005-2006 and the “European Union Drugs Strategy 2005-2012”.

 

Specific objectives of the Programme are:

 

To encourage the adoption of EU good practices in the following areas:

 

·         Drug epidemiology: to establish a sustained capacity to analyse drug related data based on EMCDDA (European Monitoring Centre on Drugs and Drug Addiction) guidelines;

·         Prevention of drug use in Prison: to offer treatment-rehabilitation services to inmates in prisons;

·         Drug proffiling at airports and railways: to encourage fight against drug and precursors trafficking based on inteligence and inter-agency cooperation;

·         Prevention campaign in the media: to inform the population of the health risks of drug use (including HIV infection)
