Tajik Government's Inter Ministerial Commision on Border Management
Development of donor and Government strategies for sound statistical data to aid decision-makers. The DAMOS Project of the CADAP Programme establishes Drug Abuse Monitoring Observatories in each country, on the model of the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs & Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) in Lisbon, Portugal, with responsibility to provide:
- National Annual Reports on Drugs
- More comprehensive data on supply and demand trends
- Common indicators for analysis, to ensure regional and inter-regional comparability of data
Following an international conference in Paris, France, in 2003, the ‘Paris Pact’ countries gave the United Nations Office on Drugs & Crimes (UNODC) the role of coordinating donor assistance in regard to controlling the supply of drugs from Afghanistan. The EC CADAP Programme coordinates and cooperates closely with UNODC:
- Regular meetings between UNDP and UNODC Regional managers
- printution of selected CADAP projects directly by UNODC
- Participation in UNODC-organised coordination meetings for Paris Pact implementation
- Incorporation of CADAP project data in the UNODC-established Paris Pact Donor Assistance Matrix
